Hillel Provides No-Cost Passover Meals to Students and Community Members
Cincinnati Hillel is one of six partner agencies of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and is supported in part by the annual Community Campaign.
As Friday night approached, the Hillel staff and students were busy getting all the recipes, ingredients and food ready for the Seder meal. For the first time in recent years, Hillel was able to provide both Seders and meals during Passover at no cost to students and community members! With an estimated 75 people, both community members and UC students, anticipated to attend, Hillel wanted to make sure they had something that would please everyone. Guests at Hillel’s Seders sat under a tent as the Israelites once did, sang songs and heard the story of our ancestors’ escape from slavery in Egypt. For the four questions, the freshmen at UC sang Mah Nishtanah in unison. The Seders gave a family feel for those who were unable to be at home with their own families. Hillel feels privileged that they were able to cater to so many this Passover Holiday.
