Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC)

June 11: 2013 JCRC Annual Meeting
Hear Jonathan Miller—co-founder of “The Recovering Politician” website and former Kentucky State Treasurer—speak about his efforts to change perceptions of Israel. We will also learn about the JCRC’s achievements in the past year and take a peek at what we have planned for the future.

The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) is the arm of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati that focuses on public affairs and community relations. Our mission is to protect Jewish security, recognizing that Jewish security depends on a just society for all.

To achieve this mission, we work on a broad range of local, national and international issues, concentrating our efforts in three principal areas:

  • Community & Government Relations: We advocate for the priorities of the local Jewish community. We develop meaningful relationships with ethnic, religious, civic, business and academic leaders and strengthen ties with our policy makers. And we partner in initiatives that enhance the strength and vitality of Cincinnati’s diverse communities.

  • Israel Advocacy & Jewish Security: Since our founding in the 1930s as a response to antisemitism, our work has focused on protecting Jewish security, recognizing that this is dependent on a just society for all. Each year, we convene important events, expert briefings and issue-driven forums focused on Israel and issues of importance to the Jewish community.

  • Education: We serve as a resource for education and information about Israel, Judaism and Jewish culture for both the Jewish community and the many diverse communities of greater Cincinnati.
