The Federation mission is to build community, care for the welfare of Jews everywhere and maximize participation in Jewish life.† With a focus on community, leadership engagement and development and financial resource development, the Federation is able to serve as a central resource to support the Jewish community locally and internationally.

Minneapolis and its suburbs are home to approximately 35,000 Jews; and the Minneapolis Jewish Federation has historically conducted one of the most successful Community Annual Campaigns in the country.† Supporting more than 50 partner agencies and programs throughout the local, overseas and global community; the Community Annual Campaign raises over $10 million from 5,500 donors.† The Jewish Community Foundation, the planned giving and endowments branch of the Federation, has over $68 million in assets with 800 funds under management.† While the Community Annual Campaign remains the Federationís principal fundraising effort, the Federation leadership continues to develop new strategies for outreach and engagement as well as cultivation and solicitation in order to raise additional resources to meet community needs today while planning for the future.
Minneapolis is a vibrant business and economic hub, with the corporate headquarters of 19 Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of industries.† It is known for its strong educational system; a diverse and strongly supported arts community, including, some of the finest and most extensive theater outside of New York; and one of the best designed and maintained park systems. Minneapolis is home to four professional sports teams as well as the University of Minnesota. It is a community that brings its highly educated children back home to settle and build their own families.
An affiliate of the Jewish Federations of North America, the Minneapolis Jewish Federation is part of a network of over 160 Federations through the U.S. and Canada.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Community Impact (DCI) will serve on the Leadership Team and coordinate a comprehensive approach for the community planning process, including developing methodologies to ensure implementation of five Community Strategic Priorities.†
The DCI will strive for excellence and innovation to continue to position the Federation as the prime agency for Jewish community planning, funding, and convening of Jewish organizations to meet community priorities and create a vibrant Jewish life in Minneapolis and overseas.† In addition, the ideal candidate will have the experience, composure, and communication skills to forge strong relationships with community organizations, donors, lay leaders, and other key stake holders. The DCI will also serve in the lead role of establishing and stewarding relations with and serving as the liaison with the local Jewish agencies and synagogues around our planning and allocations process and collaborative initiatives.
The DCI is responsible for the reorganization and alignment of the Community Impact committee structure, funding requests and allocations process for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
This is a full-time, management position, which supervises two direct reports, including the Assistant Director of Community Impact and an administrative assistant.
