2012 Give a Day: Community-Wide Mitzvah Day

Volunteers at Super Sunday

On Sunday, April 29, 674 volunteers gave their time at 35 projects to impact over 30,000 lives in the Jewish community and beyond. We even had 30 Israeli volunteers participating in Give a Day projects in our Partnership2Gether (P2G) city of Netanya, and we were able to Skype with them in the morning, just after they'd finished their day.

At Super Sunday--one of the projects of Give a Day--over 150 volunteers worked tirelessly for almost four hours to raise funds for the 2012 Community Campaign, which supports 39 programs, 25 agencies and 13 congregations that work to provide a safety net for our most vulnerable and nurture and sustain Jewish life in Cincinnati, in Israel and throughout the world.

Thanks to the volunteers' hard work, we raised $220,000, exceeding our goal by 10%! This great response was largely due to the generous 2-to-1 match from The Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati, which inspired so many new gifts and increases this year and resulted in over $300,000 raised for the community!

It was a great day for everyone involved and for the entire Jewish community!
