Israel Center

The Israel Center of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and our Israeli emissaries—the Community Shaliach and the Chaverim M’Israel—work to sustain and strengthen connections between Cincinnati and Israel through education, advocacy and travel.

EDUCATION
We teach classes, facilitate programs and participate in community-wide events in conjunction with:

  • Jewish supplemental and day schools
  • Non-Jewish schools and universities
  • Synagogues and churches
  • Hillel centers at the University of Cincinnati and Miami University
  • The Mayerson JCC and The Mayerson Foundation’s Access program

ADVOCACY
We work with the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) to:

  • Build bridges with non-Jewish religious and secular organizations
  • Bring representatives from the Israeli embassy and consulates to Cincinnati
  • Showcase Israel to local business leaders and government officials
  • Serve as the community’s resource for information on Israel
  • Help Cincinnatians understand life in modern Israel

TRAVEL
We promote travel to Israel by:

  • Administering The Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati’s Israel Travel Grant program
  • Offering pre- and post-trip engagement programs for teens and young adults who travel to Israel
  • Connecting teens, young adults and other groups in Cincinnati with their peers in our Partnership2Gether (P2G) city, Netanya, Israel 
  • Providing consultation and advice to individuals traveling to Israel or making aliyah
  • Referring individuals to trip providers
  • Organizing and facilitating local delegations to Israel
