The troubled economy is hurting our Jewish Community.

Be a Part of the Solution. Help Us to Help.

Nate, a student from the University of Cincinnati, wanted to connect to the Jewish Community and make a difference. He took a leadership role in the Hillel Jewish Student Center’s “Operation Warm-Up.”

“There are no words to describe the feelings that you get when you help someone, just a normal everyday person, in something as simple as medicine, clothing, blankets, books, or food.”

Operation Warm-Up has grown from distributing 200 care packages to over 8,000, and engages over 200 volunteers every year.

“This program is not only important to the thousands of recipients that receive the packages. It is a perfect example of how the students can be involved in Tikkun Olam, and, more importantly, how we can repair the immediate surroundings and communities that we live in.”

The majority of Jewish young adults indicate that making the world a better place is a very important aspect of their Jewish identity.

  • 78% of Greater Cincinnati Jewish young adults want to increase their Jewish Connections.*

  • In six years, 168 Mitzvah Challenge participants (B’nai Mitzvah age) donated $121,540 to organizations in Cincinnati, Israel and around the world.

  • About 400 young adults have participated in social action projects through the Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati (YAD).
