2010 Jewish & Israeli Film Festival

  • Six powerful and entertaining films for viewers of all ages will be screened over 6 days.

  • Art, drama, romance, comedy, Jewish history – even sumo wrestling.

  • “The diversity of films in this festival is wonderful…off the beaten path…worth it,” said Larry Thomas, WVXU-FM (NPR/Cincinnati) Film Critic.

  • Opening night, on Saturday, January 30, starts at 7:00 p.m. with A MATTER OF SIZE. Winner of the best comedy by the Traverse City Festival in Michigan (2009) as well as a nominee for Best Picture at the Israeli Academy Awards (2009). A delicious chocolate dessert reception follows the film.

  • Additional showings available: 
  1. UC’s Hillel Jewish Student Center will screen BITTERSWEET on February 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mainstreet Cinema at the Tangeman University Center on the Campus of UC.

  2. Cedar Village will screen NOODLE on February 2 at 7:00 p.m. 

  3. Xavier University will screen SAVIORS IN THE NIGHT on February 4 at 7:00 p.m., co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati.

 

 

  • $10 general admission/$7 seniors (60+) & students. PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE, at door, or call 513-985-1521

  • Please note: Tickets are sold on a first come-first served basis. We recommend arriving 30 minutes in advance of showings. Tickets are non-refundable, but transferable.

  • Seat availability: When you make your reservation online you will receive a receipt.  At that point you are guaranteed a seat.  If the film sells out, we will no longer take reservations over the phone for that film, and the website will no longer accept reservations.  If the film sells out, those who choose to pay at the door will be placed on a waiting list. If there are available seats we will sell them first come-first served.

  • Please note: Due to high demand, graduated seating will not be available at the Mayerson JCC so that we can accommodate a greater number of ticket holders.

  • SAVE with a Festival Pass: Good for entry to all 6 films!  $50 general admission/$35 seniors (60+) & students - Includes 1 free meal at the J Café
    (Beginning at 5:00 p.m. prior to 7:00 p.m. screenings, except Saturday night. Maximum value: $10)

  • GIVE a Free Culture Pass: For every $36 dollars you donate in addition to your gift to the 2010 Community Campaign, the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati will ensure that a senior or a student who cannot afford the admission will receive a free pass for the complete Jewish & Israeli Film Festival.

  • Popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for purchase at most performances.

  • All movie venues are accessible for persons with disabilities and assisted listening devices will be available.
