Election Forum to Feature US Congressional Candidates, Broadcast Live on Local 12
Candidates running for both local and national offices will participate in an election forum and Candidate Meet-and-Greet on October 16, 6pm, at the Mayerson JCC in Amberley Village. Your Vote Counts, presented by American Jewish Committee (AJC Cincinnati) and the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), the public affairs arm of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, in partnership with Local 12, will serve as the catalyst for the Jewish community to learn about the issues central to our diverse population. The program is intended to inform and guide voters as to key political and public policy perspectives.
Your Vote Counts will feature a Candidate Meet-and-Greet from 6pm-6:45pm followed by a panel discussion showcasing Congressional candidates from Ohio’s 1st and 2nd Districts at 6:50pm. AJC Cincinnati and JCRC will bring candidates together at the same table to answer pressing questions during an issues-driven, moderated dialogue.
Panelists include incumbents Rep. Steve Chabot and Rep. Brad Wenstrup, along with challengers Aftab Pureval and Jill Schiller. Local 12 reporter Jeff Hirsh will serve as the moderator of this discussion, which will be broadcast live on Local 12.
More than two dozen candidates vying for local, state, and national offices will attend the Meet-and-Greet, including those running for U.S. Congress, Hamilton County Commissioner, Court of Appeals, Common Pleas Court and other contested races. This forum will serve as a resource for members of the Cincinnati community to learn about the issues and to enable them to cast their votes with confidence.
AJC and JCRC are 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. AJC and JCRC neither support nor oppose candidates for elective office.
There is no cost to attend. For security purposes, reservations and identification are required for entrance. To register, go to the AJC Cincinnati or JCRC websites.
