Inside a Hamburg library at the age of 38, Jennifer Teege uncovered a secret that changed her life forever: She is the granddaughter of Amon Goeth, the sadistic Nazi commander.
Teege was born to a German mother and Nigerian father. Finding her relation to Goeth made her realize that her own grandfather would have thought her less-than-human.
She processed the shock of her discovery, gathered her thoughts and over the next two years, realized that this connection to a horrendous history didn’t define her.
She went on to write the best-selling memoir, My Grandfather Would Have Shot Me. Since then, Teege has appeared on C-SPAN, BBC and many more.
In this engaging discussion at the Mayerson JCC, Teege, will speak about the process of writing her book and what she’s learned about humanity in the wake of her discovery.
Stay for a meet and greet and book signing with Jennifer Teege.
