Helping Children & Families Through Grief; Liz Tiemeier, MSW (with Fernside) and Debi Maltz Varland, MA MAT ATR (with Jewish Family Service), will discuss how children ages 3-18 cope with the death of a loved one such as a grandparent, parent, sibling or friend. They will explore how children feel, think, verbalize and behave differently than their age; and introduce ways to help support grieving children and adolescents at each developmental stage through traditional verbal interactions as well as less threatening non-verbal expressive outlets. This free event is part of Jewish Family Service’s Alan R. Mack Speaker Series for 2015.
