July Book Discussion: “The Unwanted” by Michael Dobbs
Tuesday, July 14 | 7:00 PM | Zoom
Presented by the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center
July’s book discussion will focus on The Unwanted: America, Auschwitz, and a Village Caught in Between by Michael Dobbs. Community member Walter Spiegel will join us for the discussion to share his family’s story and its connection to the book’s themes. In The Unwanted, Dobbs weaves together the experiences of residents of Kippenheim, Germany and their desperate attempts to escape Nazi persecution, illuminating the barriers faced by Jewish refugees fleeing Nazism and the American response to the refugee crisis. Join us for a SECOND EVENT ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 22 to hear Michael Dobbs speak directly.
