The Jewish community in Cincinnati played a pivotal role for me in high school. I was a board member for my youth group at Wise Temple, where I was co-journalist, Social Action Vice President, and Programming Vice President. Our youth group was a part of North American Federation for Temple Youth (NFTY) and I attended many conferences through youth group. I also participated in a few “kallahs” (a Hebrew word occasionally used to describe gatherings of this sort) at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati while in high school and college. Read more.
