Iranian Forces Fire Rockets into Golan Heights: Israel Update

Iranian forces stationed in Syria fired about 20 rockets at Israeli military positions in the Golan Heights, the IDF reported. The rocket barrage late Wednesday night was the largest attack, in terms of the number of rockets fired, in the seven years of the Syrian civil war. In light of both general tension and specific intelligence, the IDF went on high alert this week, deploying additional missile defense batteries in northern Israel and striking dozens of Iranian military targets as a counter response to the attacks. On Friday, the Israeli military acknowledged that it attacked the T-4 air base in central Syria last month — killing at least seven Iranian revolutionary guards — as well as its ongoing intelligence and air campaign to prevent Tehran from carrying out reprisals for the strike.
