Action Tank is excited to launch its Preventing Political Extremism Project on February 22 with a kickoff event featuring a conversation with award winning journalist and author Talia Lavin on the rise of extremism and anti-semitism in America. Joining Talia will be our moderator for the night, Katie Vogel. Vogel is a speaker and organizer for the Hakhel Network of Independent Jewish Communities, and she currently serves as the Director of SEO Strategy for Hearst Newspapers. Although this is a hybrid event (Talia will be appearing virtually and this will also be streamed on zoom), all in-person attendees will have access to a free kosher buffet and free childcare if registered prior to February 1.
Tickets are pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation.
Pre-registration is required and includes a survey to inform our Preventing Political Extremism Toolkit. Please give yourself 5-10 minutes to register.
This event serves as the kickoff to Action Tank’s Preventing Political Extremism Project generously funded by Reflect Cincinnati. Action Tank will create a free Preventing Political Extremism Toolkit (PPET) to support resident efforts to identify and combat political extremism and anti-semitism within their families, communities, and cities. The Toolkit will be drafted by policy and civic engagement experts at Action Tank, with input from Cincinnati residents and contributions from local and national experts in the field, and is set to be released in late summer 2023. Attendees of the Talia Lavin event will be the first to give input on the creation of the toolkit during the registration process. Be a part of an important resource and register here.
Pre-order a signed copy of Talia Lavin's book Culture Overlords to pick up at the event or to be shipped to you!
