Building Tikvah is an invitation to a community gathering where Israeli-Americans and American Jews come together to explore and learn practical ways to build hope here in the United States, after two years of war in Israel.
For many of us, the war in Israel has brought profound pain—whether concerning our people in the State of Israel, particularly the security forces and hostages; the rise of antisemitism and criticism of Israel within American educational institutions; fractures within the American Jewish community regarding Israel; and more. Now, as the war comes to an end, the Jewish community in America must find the language and pathways to build hope—for ourselves and for the young Jewish generation growing up here.
The "Building Tikvah" gathering is led by Congregation Etz Chaim together with the Israeli-American Council (IAC) and consists of two main components:
Part A: Structured dialogue among community members exploring the concept of hope and ways to build it together
Part B: Shared learning with Dr. Yakir Englander examining Jewish and Israeli texts on building hope and translating their wisdom to the challenges we face today
This gathering is designed for community members who care deeply about the State of Israel and its future, and who seek a safe space to meet face-to-face, experience the strength of community, and become partners in building hope together.
Open to Everyone. Free to Attend. Watch for details on how to register.
