LGBTQ + life, community and struggles in Israel with Ofer Erez

Ofer Erez, Israeli LGBTQ+ activist and former CEO of the Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance, will provide information about LGBTQ+ life and history in Israel. This session would bring up legal issues, social/cultural acceptance, pink-washing claims, and more.

This session will be valuable to attendees as it will share information about key LGBTQ+ issues in Israeli society, from a person who has been on the forefront of fighting for inclusion and equity for LGBTQ+ people in Israeli society. It will also provide accurate information, both negative and positive, that will help students combat anti Israel claims focusing on LGBTQ+ topics.

Ofer Erez is a Board Member in Israel’s LGBTQ+ National Task Force, the former Executive Director at the Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance, the first Transgender officer to serve openly with pride in the IDF and Official Advisor to the IDF on Transgender community issues.
