Online hate, antisemitism, racism, and dangerous disinformation are increasing exponentially, particularly in the wake of the pandemic and in the lead up to the 2020 elections. Right now there is a multi-pronged campaign in the civil rights community to push back on the tech platforms and have them make necessary changes on their platforms that currently escalate and promote hate online. The Stop Hate for Profit Campaign has had a high level of success with over 1000 corporations asking them to ‘pause’ their advertising and have gotten solidarity from many non-profits. This is an opportunity to hear from leaders of this campaign, as well as other diverse representatives pushing back on the platforms in multiple ways. The Jewish voice is critical to add to this effort right now - learn how your community can engage.

Moderator: Melanie Roth Gorelick, Senior Vice President, JCPA

Speakers: Jacob Davey, Senior Research Manager, Far Right & Hate Crime; Vanessa Cardenas, Senior Advisor, LULAC; Jamal Watkins, Vice President of Civic Engagement, NAACP
