Since 1929, The Jewish Agency for Israel has been working to secure a vibrant Jewish future. They were instrumental in founding and building the State of Israel and continue to serve as the main link between the Jewish state and Jewish communities everywhere. This global partnership has enabled the Jewish Agency to address the Jewish People’s greatest challenges in every generation.
Today, through programs like Partnership2Gether, the Jewish Agency connects the global Jewish family, bringing Jews to Israel, and Israel to Jews, by facilitating aliyah and providing meaningful Israel engagement around the globe. Each year, Cincinnati welcomes a senior shaliach (community emissary) from Israel, who is trained by the Jewish Agency and serves as a resource and an official representative of Israel on behalf of the Jewish Agency. The senior shaliach is joined by two young emissaries from Israel through the Jewish Agency’s Chaverim m’Israel (Friends from Israel) program. These recent high school graduates defer their service in the Israeli Defense Forces to come to the U.S. and share what they know about Israeli life with people across the Cincinnati area.
The Jewish Agency works to build a better society in Israel— and beyond— energizing young Israelis and their worldwide peers to rediscover a collective sense of Jewish purpose.
The Jewish Agency continues to be the Jewish world’s first responder, prepared to address emergencies in Israel, and to rescue Jews from countries where they are at risk.
