JCRC Condemns Car Ramming Attack in Jerusalem

Together with the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, the Jewish Community Relations Council is outraged and heartbroken today after twelve Israeli soldiers were injured in what Israeli security forces have described as a suspected vehicular ramming attack in central Jerusalem. One of the soldiers is in critical condition. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those wounded.

The Golani soldiers were passing by the First Station, a popular entertainment spot on the city’s David Remez Street, during a heritage tour ahead of their swearing in ceremony at the Western Wall. Israeli police said that they had been walking on the sidewalk when the vehicle came from behind and struck them at high speed. The driver fled the scene of the attack.

Together with our national partners, we call on global leaders to condemn terrorism, and we hope for the swift apprehension of the suspect.
