What happens when scouts from different backgrounds—Jewish and non-Jewish, Scouting America and Girl Scouts—come together for a shared Shabbat experience?
You get a night filled with meaning, unity, and new connections.
Nearly 100 attendees—families, scouts, and community members—recently gathered to light candles, reflect on traditions, and celebrate what truly brings us together: leadership, service, and belonging.
Scouting and Jewish values have a deep connection, both emphasizing service, leadership, and inclusivity. Watching scouts from all backgrounds gather and embrace Shabbat together showcased the power of shared experiences in building lasting relationships.
This special evening was made possible through Cincy Journeys, which helps provide access to Jewish overnight camps and other immersive experiences. We were thrilled to partner with the Jewish Committee, Dan Beard Council, Scouting America, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, and Mayerson JCC to bring this event to life!
