2015 is being called the year of Aliyah. This year, 30,000 olim (new immigrants) from across the world are expected in Israel, the most in any one year since the late 1990s. This total includes large spikes in numbers from Ukraine, Russia and France.
More than 90 leaders of Federations participated in the meetings of The Jewish Agency Assembly and Board of Governors (BOG) at the end of June in Israel to hear about this Aliyah surge, as well as the need for housing, religious pluralism and youth engagement. Read more
